Every project has a kanban board with columns that tasks move through, like To do, In progress and Done. To move a task, just drag it to another column. You'll find all tasks from all your projects in one table under Tasks.
How to organize your tasks
- Sections – bigger parts of a project, like Design or Backend.
- Packages – a group of tasks you deliver together, like one stage for a client. For both sections and packages, you can see the number of tasks, the estimate and the billable time.
- Tags – your own color-coded labels. Manage them in the project settings, or just type a new one straight into a task.
- Priority – high, medium or low.
- Assignee – who on the team is working on the task.
Task detail
Click a task to open its detail. Besides the description, attachments and estimate, you'll find these tabs:
- Comments – chat with your team, reply in threads and attach files (up to 20 per comment). You can also remove a file from a comment you've already sent.
- Linked tasks – for example, what's blocking the task or what it depends on.
- Your time – the hours you've logged on this task.
- History – who changed what on the task. History is part of PRO.
Attachments, voice notes and images in the description are private. A file link you copy from frego works for about 24 hours and then stops working. Just reopen the task and you'll get a fresh one.
Copy for AI
In the header of the task detail you'll find the Copy for AI button. It copies the whole task as text you can paste into Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant: title, project, priority, assignee, estimate, tags and description. You can copy on every plan and it costs no credits.
- Comments – also adds the comments and their replies.
- Attachments – adds links to the attachments and to the images in the description. The links are valid for 24 hours. A chat assistant may not be able to open an image link, so if the image matters, drag it straight into the chat.
Voice notes that haven't been transcribed yet don't make it into the text. On PRO you can transcribe them right while copying, as long as you have AI credits: it costs 1 credit per note and the transcript is added to the task description permanently. On FREE, frego just tells you how many notes are missing from the text.
Bulk editing
On the board, click Select and pick your tasks. A bar will appear at the bottom letting you move them all to another column at once, assign them to someone, add or remove tags, change their section, package, priority or estimate. You can also add them to your daily tasks, move them to a different project, start or stop the timer, or delete them.
Heads upYou can't delete a task that has logged hours on it. During bulk deletion, frego will skip it so you don't lose your time records.
TipNo need to retype a long task list from a client by hand. Check out Task import and quote from materials.
