A project is the work for a specific client. It has its own kanban board, tasks and tracked hours, and in PRO also a cloud, a vault, materials and quotes.
New project
- Open Projects and click Add Project.
- Fill in the Project Name and pick a client in the Client field. The client is required.
- Enter your rate in the Hourly Rate field. It's what the amounts are calculated from, based on your tracked hours.
- In the Stage Settings section, adjust the board columns, for example To Do, In Progress and Done.
- Click Save Project.
If you do similar projects again and again, pick a template in the Start from row at the top and the project is created with its stages, sections and tasks. More in the article Project templates.
Inviting people
In the Team Members section, type an e-mail and press Enter. For each person, choose their role in the Role field:
- Admin – can manage the project's members and settings.
- Coworker – a regular team member who works on tasks.
- Client – your client. They can upload files to the cloud and save passwords to the project vault, so they can send you materials and access details securely instead of by e-mail. A quote you share with them they read in frego and approve or reject themselves.
As the creator, you're the project's Owner and can do everything. The invited person gets an invitation and accepts it in the project list.
Inviting people and changing their roles only works in a project whose creator has PRO. You can always remove a member. Anyone already in the project stays in it, even when the creator's PRO ends.
The client and approving a quote
Of the quotes, a client sees only one you shared with them by name and already sent. They open it in the project under Materials & quotes and decide with the I agree or I do not agree buttons; they pick the optional items themselves. They don't see a draft, and you have to share a new version with them again. More in the article Materials and quotes.
PRO applies to the whole project
Whether a project has PRO features depends on who created it. When you have PRO and invite someone who's on FREE, they use the cloud, vault, materials and quotes, statistics and other PRO things in your project. This applies only in that project.
Heads upAI features aren't shared this way. AI credits are always spent by whoever runs the action, and that person needs their own PRO. More in the article AI credits.
Inactive project
You switch off a project you no longer work on with the Active toggle. It disappears from the pickers for tasks and hours, but nothing is lost.
