You pay for AI features in frego with credits. Each action uses a few credits, depending on how much work the AI does for you.
How many credits you have

You get new credits on the 1st of every month. Monthly credits you don't use expire and don't carry over to the next month.
When you switch to PRO + AI during the month, for example from the trial or from PRO, you get the difference up to 300 credits right away. If you've used 15 of your 20 credits, you have 5 + 280 = 285 after the switch. When you go back to PRO, you keep the credits you already have and get 20 from the next month on.

You also see the cost right on the button of each action. If an AI action fails, you get your credits back.
You can also transcribe a task's voice notes while copying the task for AI. It costs the same, 1 credit per note.
Buying more
When you run out of credits, go to Settings → Subscription and click Buy 100 credits for €3. Credits you buy never expire and are only used after your monthly ones. You can buy them on both PRO and PRO + AI.
Who pays
Credits are always spent by whoever runs the AI action. When someone with PRO invites you to their project, you can use the PRO features there, but not AI. For AI you need your own PRO and your own credits.
Where to see your balance
In Settings → Subscription there's an AI credits card. It shows how many you have left this month, how many you've bought and when you'll get new ones.
